A map of Lenia's parameter space (μ, σ): thousands of short simulations, one per cell, that chart the regime instead of piling up run after run.
What this map shows
Every pixel in this mosaic is a real short simulation: the same starting soup (the centered Orbium), the same kernel, but a different (μ, σ) pair — the center and width of the growth function — for each cell. All cells evolve in parallel on the GPU, as a batched tensor, then get classified by the same vital signs as individual runs.
The colored regions aren't an illustration — they're measurements. Gray marks a mass that collapses (extinction), red a grid that overflows (explosion), green a shape that settles into stability, cyan a shape that keeps evolving without dying or exploding. The gold ring marks the cell closest to the Orbium regime (μ≈0.15, σ≈0.015) — the map's known anchor point.
